Traditional firms charge 25–30% of first-year salary – often inflated by overhead and commission structures that don’t serve you. That makes external recruiting feel out of reach.
I designed my model differently:
- Hourly billing gives you full visibility into the time invested in your search. You always know exactly what you’re paying for, and you can stop anytime.
- To keep the model sustainable, I apply a minimum fee equal to 15% of base salary per hire. If the hourly total comes in under that, the difference is billed at the end. In practice, no client has ever paid above that threshold.
- Partnership over payout – my structure rewards doing the work well, not rushing to collect a commission.
